Quotable Quotes "Mental illness is not the shameful secret it used to be -- if you suffer from depression, if you're alcoholic, if you have an autistic child, you can look other people in the eye and say so and expect them to be decent about it. You just say, "I'm bipolar,' or 'My son is schizophrenic,' or 'My daughter has apraxia,' and that is that. "Oh," they say, and you talk about it, or you don't and life goes on... . Mental illness needs to be named and acknowledged so it can be accepted and put in its proper place and life can go on." -- Garrison Keillor, noted speaker and author: Copyright 2004 Garrison Keillor
"Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm." --author unknown Poet Robert Frost said, "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. -- It goes on." The goal for the Mental Health America of Hendricks County is to help people's lives go on in a healthy and functional way.
