"Don't Feed the Monster on Tuesday" Self-Esteem Management

A book reading program with a question and answer period that addresses the issues concerning anti-stress, self-esteem, anger, and grief to explain feelings.

The books are written by local author, Adolf Moser, Ed. D of Danville

 

"Shelly the Hyperactive Turtle"

Book reading dealing with attention deficit disorder.

 

 

"I'm Thumbody Special"

A self-esteem program that involves telling favorite stories and thumb printing

"Respect Yourself and Others, Too"

 

 

"I Like Being Me"

Self-esteem program with question and answer period.

COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION

 

1. Parenting Programs

This series is for parents of children ages 1, 2, 3 and 4.  You will learn: Discipline methods that work and how to care for your child at different ages and stages.

Pre-registration with the Mental Health Association in Hendricks County is required.  The cost for each class is $13.00 (cash only) and includes a parent workbook.

 

This series is for parents of children ages 2-12.  You will learn how to get your kids to STOP arguing, whining , and throwing temper tantrums. Pre-registration with the Mental Health Association in Hendricks County is required.  The cost for each class is $13.00 (cash only) and includes a parent workbook.

 

This series is for parents of children ages 2 to 12. You will learn how to use choices and consequences to develop responsibility with your child. Cost is usually $15 to cover the Parent Workbook.  Pre-registration with the Mental Health Association in Hendricks County is required.

 

This series is for parents of teens ages 13-18.  You will learn: what is normal adolescent behavior, how to manage teenage risk-taking and what parenting role to take.   Pre-registration with the Mental Health Association in Hendricks County is required.  The cost for each class is $13.00 (cash only) and includes a parent workbook.

 

 

          Class is mandated by Hendricks County Judges for Divorcing parents of children ages 18 and under.

Workshop Information

 

 

Depression Screening Day

Free educational program, presentation, and questionnaire for individuals about the symptoms of depression. Held in October during National Mental Illness Awareness Week.

 

 

 Anxiety Screening Day

Free educational program, presentation, and questionnaire for individuals about the symptoms of anxiety disorder. Held in May during Mental Health Month.

  SPECIAL REQUEST PROGRAMS

Special request programs are conducted at libraries, churches, and other community location and for community groups on varied Mental Health topics.
